Abstract

Due to an ever-increasing population, the dangers of overcrowding in public facilities became prominent during
the COVID-19 Pandemic that ravaged globally in the year 2020 and still ravaging. This study used a smart
Micro controller integrated with Machine learning approach to help control crowds in a public facility. The
design employed the use of an embedded system consisting of raspberry pi, raspberry pi camera, and other
peripherals. The raw data from the visual camera were processed using the microprocessor; information
extracted was then used to send signals to the Visual display board, Buzzer and the stepper motor which closed
the door. This study presented a prototype platform towards real-time machine learning integration with a
Raspberry Pi microcontroller. The system addresses some of the critical challenges with practical applications
in today's energy-saving environment.
