Digital signal processing (DSP) is gaining popularity in the field of computer and Electrical engineering, and has applications in areas such as renewable energy, Electronics and communications. This paper presents the hardware application of dq-PI current controller and DSP TMS320F28335 for generating the PWM switching signal for a three phase voltage source inverter (VSI) using MatLab/Simulink and Code Composer StudioTM version five (CCS V5). The system was first simulated in Matlab/Simulink environment using the dq-PI current controller to generate the logic pattern for the VSI and the result analyzed. The testing and implementation of the dq-PI current controller and DSP TMS320F28335 using SPWM technique for the VSI was presented and result validated. The research is important because the implementation is simple and can be used to investigate the performance of active filters for grid integrated VSI.
