Assess the Knowledge Regarding Warning Signs Of Cancer Among Adolescents In Krishna Chaitanya Degree College, Nellore

Abstract: Cancer is defined as, a disease of the cell in which the normal mechanisms of control of growth and proliferation are disturbed. This results in distinctive morphological alteration of the cells and aberration in tissue pattern. Cancer is a group of more than 100 different diseases. Cancer occurs when cells become abnormal and begin dividing and forming more cells without any control of order. Objective: To assess the level of knowledge regarding warning signs of cancer among adolescents in Krishna Chaitanya Degree College. Materials and Methods: Descriptive research design, convenient sampling technique was used to select 30 samples. Data was collected using structured questionnaire. Data analysis was done with inferential and descriptive statistics. Results: showed that level of knowledge regard to warning signs of cancer 3(10%) have acquired B grade, 1(3.3%) got C grade and 26(86.7%) students acquired D grade.The mean value is 9 and standard deviation of ‘2.4357’.Conclusion: The study concluded that 26(86.7%) adolescent degree students had D grade knowledge.
