Protein S deficiency is a disorder with increased risk of venous and rarely arterial
thrombosis. We report three cases of arterial ischemic stroke secondary to protein S
deficiency. All patients were young and presented with focal neurological deficit,
seizures or both, had markedly reduced serum protein S levels and all improved with
anticoagulation. (Rawal Med J 2007;32:205-207).
