The pleomorphic adenoma is a benign tumor of the salivary glands composed of several epithelial and myoepithelial tissue elements. It occurs frequently in the main salivary glands, but exceptionally in other sites, particularly in the orbital cavity. We report a clinical feature of pleomorphic adenoma of the main lacrimal gland.
The surgical approach of the right lacrimal gland was by a superior palpebral approach after completion of a lateral orbitotomy. This allowed the monobloc excision of the tumor and its histological analysis which concluded to a pleomorphic adenoma.
