Exploring the Effectof Teachers’ Competence on Students’ Performance

Abstract

The current study was about to investigate the effect ofteachers’ competencies onstudents’ performance at secondary level. Population of study was all secondary schools of district Khushab. Two stage sampling technique was used. At first stage researcher conveniently selected twenty-five schools, and at second stage randomly selected Two hundred and fifty students. The data were collected with the help of self-developed questionnaire (TCSPS) Teachers’ competencies and Students’ Performance survey. The t-test and Pearson r were applied to analyze the data. The results revealed that there exists a significant difference between opinions of male and female students about instructional delivery of teachers, competency of class room management, students’ appreciation, and teachers’ leadership power.Pearson r was used to find relationship between students’ performance and teachers’ competence. Results showed a significant relationship of students’ performance with teachers’ competence.
