Frequency of jumper’s knee in male basketball players

Abstract

Objective: To determine the frequency of jumper’s knee in basketball players.
Methodology: In this cross sectional study, 150 players were selected by simple random sampling technique from different sports clubs across Pakistan. Information was gathered through Victorian Institute of Sports Assessment questionnaire.
Results: The frequency of Jumpers Knee was found to be 62%. The intensity was more in the player’s whose ages were between 18- 22 and in the players whose weight was between 70-89 Kgs.
Conclusion: The frequency of Jumpers Knee among male basketball players was 62%. Majority were between 18-22 years. Further studies should be done to determine the associated factors which can cause Jumpers Knee in athletes.
