Mert Gürlek, Muharrem Tuna.

Abstract

In recent years, the growing interest in positive psychology among researchers has led to the emergence of the concept of work engagement (WE). Concordantly, the studies on this concept in the national literature have shown a significant increase. But, our literature is characterized by a number of problems, such as the Turkish equivalent of WE and how to measure it. In this review study, it was discussed theoretical approaches of work engagement, how it is defined, how it is measured and how it differs from other concepts. In the light of all this discussion, it was tried to answer the following questions. What is work engagement? What is it not? How is it measured?

Key words: work engagement, organizational psychology
