Abstract

AIM: In this study we aimed to evaluate the clinical characteristics of newborns with proven sepsis, the causative agents and antibiotic resistance in our NICU.
METHOD: The charts of babies with sepsis during the years 2008–2009 in our NICU were evaluated retrospectively.
RESULTS: 238 hospitalized patients had 21 septic attacks. Rate of early onset septicemia was 28.5%, rate of late onset septicemia was 71.5%. 57.1% of babies with sepsis were preterm (
