Abstract

Compounds formed in the reaction of napthenic acid amides of Baku crude oil with some of the alkyl halogenides are found to be multifunctional corrosion inhibitors. The structural features of compounds were studies with FT-IR spectroscopy. The efficiency of these
inhibitors have also been tested against sulphate reducing bacteria (SRB) at 30 oC for and for a period of 15 days time.

Key words: corrosion; biodamage; naphthenic acids; inibitors; sulphate reducing bacteria.
