Renal Involvement In Children With Henöch-Schönlein Purpura
Summary
Objective: Henöch-schönlein purpura is a common systemic vasculitis in childhood. In this study, we aimed to retrospectively analyze the clinical and laboratory findings and treatment results in terms of renal involvement features in pediatric patients diagnosed with Henoch-schönlein purpura who were hospitalized or applied to our outpatient clinic.
Materials and Methods: This study included 50 patients who were diagnosed with Henoch-Schönein Purpura, who were admitted to the Ministry of Health Bağcılar Training and Research Hospital Pediatrics Clinic between 2012 and 2015 and were followed up regularly for at least 9 months.
Results: The patients included in the study were between 3-16 years of age (mean 6.9). 31 patients with kidney involvement were between the ages of 5-16 (mean 10.1). 30% of the cases were female (n=15) and 70% were male (n=35).
