The granulometric analysis of Bima Sandstone in Girei and environs was carried out covering the area within latitudes 9o 1600 and 9o 2400 N and longitude 12o2800 and 12o 3800 E. The aim of the study is to determine the grain size distribution of the Bima Sandstone, its transportation history as well as its depositional environment. Fourteen rock samples were subjected to granulometric analysis. The result show that, the sandstone are fine, medium to coarse and very coarse grained sandstone, it is moderate-poorly sorted. The graphic mean size range from -0.06ᶲ-1.03ᶲ which suggest high to low flow regime of transportation, inclusive graphic skewness show positive skewness with some few samples falling under negative skewness, ranging from -0.1-2.0, the inclusive graphic standard deviation range from 1.0-1.4, while the inclusive graphic kurtosis ranged from 0.68 - 4. The probability plot of the representative rock samples show that the Bima Sandstone were transported by saltation and suspension, while The bivariate scatter plot of Y2 against Y3 suggest that; the Bima Sandstone is deposited in continental setting.
