BACKGROUND: The aim of the study was to determine job satisfaction of physicians working in primary health care institutions and was to evaluate the effects of factors that are probably related to job satisfaction in Family Medicine Pilot practices in the city center of Eskisehir.
METHOD: This cross sectional study was realized on a total of 147 (84.5%) physicians working in the 4 Community Health Centers and 31 Family Health Centers 10 to 14 March 2008 in the city center of Eskisehir. The questionnaire forms were prepared in accordance with literature completed by physicians, gathered in the same or following day. The evaluation of job satisfaction was done by Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire. Chi square test, Student t test, and ANOVA variance analysis were used in data analysis.
RESULTS: Participants were composed of 72 (49.0%) male and 75 (51.0%) female physicians. Their age is between from 26 to 58, and the mean age was 40.58±4.94 years. General, internal, external job satisfaction mean points were found 3.62 ± 0.65, 3.72 ± 0.66, and 3.45 ± 0.75 respectively.
