Abstract
Dentin hypersensitivity describes a painful symptom of the exposed and innervated cervical pulp-dentin complex. It varies greatly in the range of 3% to 98%. Different materials and methods have been described to treat dentin hypersensitivity. No treatment has been found so far, which could serve as a defined therapeutic gold standard which predictably and completely eliminate pain perception, especially in long term. This is a very brief review on the features, causes and management of hypersensitivity.
