The Influences of the Quality of Sleep of the Chronic Stroke Patients on the Cognitive Function, the Motivation for the Rehabilitation, and the Capability to Carry Out the Everyday Life

Abstract

This research had intended to find out about the influences of the quality of sleep of the chronic stroke patients on the cognitive function, the motivation for the rehabilitation, and the capability to carry out the everyday life and their correlations. This research had the 31 stroke patients who had been hospitalized or had been receiving the outpatient treatment at hospitals that are located in Korea as the subjects. To measure the quality of sleep, cognitive function, capability to carry out the activities of daily living and motivation for the rehabilitation of the subjects had been measured by using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI), the Mini Mental State Examination(MMSE-K), the Korean version of the Modified Barthel Index(K-MBI) and the rehabilitation motivation measurement tool.
