Results of surgical treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome through mini-open incision

Abstract
Objective: Clinical results and surgical technique were evaluated in patients whom underwent mini-open surgery due to the Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS).
Material and Methods: 46 wrists of the 38 patients (34 female, 4 male, mean age 54 years, range 36-69) whom underwent mini-open surgery (mini-palmar incision distal to the transverse carpal ligament) because of CTS between April 2005 - March 2010 were evaluated retrospectively. Patients were followed-up for an average of 48,2 months (range 27-86 months). Patients were clinically and functionally evaluated with Bostons scale and visual analog scale (VAS).
