Trivanga Bhasma is a herbomineral formulation, described in Ayurveda and Rasashastra classics, indicated in Prameha, Madhumeha, Shukrameha, Uterine disease etc. Naga (Lead), Vanga (Tin) and Yashada (Zinc) are its key ingredients. These three metals are gone through the process of Shodhana, Jarana and Marana to preparation of the Bhasma. Different methods of these process are mentioned in classical text. Reference of Aushadhi Guna Dharma Shastra has been followed in the present study to prepare the formulation. During the process 0.13%, 1.92% and 3.20 % weight gain after Samanya Shodhana and 3.98%, 3.39% and 4.14% weight loss after Vishesha Shodhana was observed in Naga, Vanga and Yashada
respectively. All three was taken together in Jarana process, 4.13% weight gain was observed. 28 puta were given in Marana process, where Bhawana (Levigation) of Haridra Kwath (Decoction of Curcuma longa) and Kumari swarasa (Pulp of Aloe vera) was given alternately before each puta. The color of Bhasma was dull yellow, it was fine in appearance, odourless, tasteless, smooth and passed all the classical parameter i.e. Dantagre Kachkachabhava, Varitara, Rekhapoorna, Unama and Apunarbhava after completion of the process.
