Assessing the Operating Characteristics Curve of Double Acceptance Sampling Plan Based on the Generalized Poisson Distribution

The purpose of the research was to analyse the operational characteristic curve that was obtained from
a double acceptance sampling plan by making use of the Poisson Distribution (PD) as well as the
Generalised Poisson Distribution (GPD). The Generalised Poisson Distribution (GPD) was utilised in
order to minimize the sample sizes that were required for inspection. This was done in order to calculate
the likelihood of acceptance using preset acceptance numbers. When compared to double sampling plans
(DSP), the single sampling plan (SSP) has a significantly larger sample size, which simultaneously leads
to increased risks for both the producer and the consumer. This is a significant disadvantage of the SSP.
In spite of this, the plan that is being offered makes a comparison between the operational characteristic
curves that are utilised in the SSP, PD, and GPD. The results of this comparison indicate that, in general,
the DSP is more cost-effective in terms of inspection charges and protecting both the customer and the
producer. This was accomplished by utilising the GPD, and its operating characteristic curve was
presented. As a result of the analysis, it was revealed that the GPD that is based on DSP offers improved
protection for both producer and consumer risk in comparison to the SSP. This effectively strikes a
balance between the interests of both parties.
