Prof P J Deshpande Reinventer of Kshar Sutra Therapy

Abstract
Prof. Prabhakar Janardhan Deshpande the then Dean, Faculty of Ayurveda, B. H. U was born on 11th June, 1925 in a cultured family of Maharashtra, India. Dr. Deshpande is an outstanding alumnus of Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, joined the Ayurvedic college of BHU in 1941 in AMS course. Dr. Deshpande pursued his six years AMS course at BHU and got Gold Medal for passing the final examination in first place.
