Efficacy of triamcinolone acetonide injections in the management of oral submucous fibrosis at a tertiary care hospital, Karachi, Pakistan

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of intralesional triamcinolone acetonide injections in the management of oral submucous fibrosis (OSF) at a tertiary care hospital in Karachi.
Methodology: This quasi-experimental study was conducted in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, JPMC, Karachi, from March to September 2025. Eighty-eight clinically diagnosed OSF patients were recruited by convenience sampling. Each received weekly submucosal 1.5ml dose of triamcinolone acetonide with lignocaine for four consecutive weeks.
