The leaves of Senna obtusifolia (L.) Cleome gynandr (L), Leptadenia hastate (Perse) Decna were subjected to nutritive and proximate analysis. The results of the proximate analysis revealed the presences of moisture contents (8.5, 7.0, and 5.5% fresh weight), ash contents (5.3, 9.6 and 11.6%), nitrogen contents (1.31, 2.03 and 2.745%), CP (8.17, 12.72 and 17.18%), CHO contents (80.67, 64.12 and 62.99%) lipid contents (3.0, 9.17 and 2.8%) and fiber contents (2.8, 4.3 and 5.3%) of Senna obtusifolia (L.), Cleome gynandra (L.), and Leptadenia hastate (Perse) and the nutritive analysis were; Na (110.8, 105.8 and 243.3mg/kg), K (6500, 3533.3 and 9500 mg/kg) Ca (0.58, 1.28 and 0.65mg/kg) Mg (0.32, 0.67 and 1.20 mg/kg) P (4.40, 5.12 and 4.44mg/kg). The research revealed the presences of higher carbohydrates, Sodium, lipids and Potassium values in all the local plants leaves observed which is an indication that, these local plants leaves could serve as good source of nutrients and minerals when properly consumed in our diets and could help improve health conditions as well as living standards of the inhabitants.
