This study assessed the role of Fadama III Programme in boosting the socio-economy of the participating women of Sokoto north A. D. P. Two Local Government Areas were purposively selected from the zone. Multistage sampling technique was used to arrive at the sample size of the study (100). Structured questionnaire and interview schedule were the instrument used to collect data. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze the data obtained. The findings of the study indicated that 32.2% of the participating women were within the age bracket of 37-50 years with majority having a household size of 6-10 persons and all had one form of education or the other, most especially QurÂ’anic education. The results also revealed that all the beneficiaries were provided with productive assets by the programme and most were engaged in crop production, while others were engaged in animal production, dry season faming and processing of agricultural produce. The findings also revealed that majority of the participating women were satisfied with the programme. The result of Chi-square test revealed a significant relationship between the participating women level of satisfaction and the productive assets provided by the Programme. Based on the findings, the authors concluded the Fadama IIII programme helped in improving the socio-economy of the participants. They further recommended that Fadama III Programme should engage much more women in its programme due to the benefit derivable from the programme.
