Abstract
A study was carried out to determine the prevalence of malaria infection in pregnant women that attended antenatal clinic of General Hospital, Aliero between May-August, 2011. Demographic data on age, social status, trimester stage, gravidity and preferred treatment method was collected from 100 pregnant women using a structured questionnaire. Blood samples were also collected and examined for malaria parasite using thick and thin smears. Overall prevalence of malaria parasite was found to be 71 %.
