Background: The incidence of stroke is gaining increasing momentum and these patients are mostly deconditioned on exercise (BCI) impact on medicine and healthcare now may be subtle but is still revolutionary.
Objectives: To measure the effects of walking exercises and muscle building exercises on the morphological and physiological status of post stroke patients.
Materials and Methods: We used the experimental method, which consisted in following the evolution of the morphological and physiological parameters of 30 male hemiplegic patients from the University Clinics of Kinshasa, who were subjected to a walking program and abdominal muscle strengthening exercises. upper and lower at the rate of three one-hour sessions per week for a period of six months. The matched student's t test verified the effects of physical activity before and after six months of practice.
Results: After 6 months of intervention program in adapted physical activity, we found that hemiplegic subjects significantly changed their weight (p = 0.0001), body mass index (p = 0.0001), waist circumference (p = 0.0001), total fat (p = 0.0001), visceral fat (p = 0.0001), muscle mass (p = 0.0001), resting heart rate (p = 0.0001), blood pressure systolic (p = 0.0001S), diastolic blood pressure (p = 0.0001), distance traveled during a 6-minute walk test (p = 0.0001), and maximal oxygen consumption (p = 0.0001)
Conclusion: It emerges from this study that the practice of physical activities adapted by the hemiplegic patient allows him to significantly improve his morphological and physiological state.
