Objectives: This case report addressed the idea about efficacy of mechanical diagnosis and therapy (MDT) in shoulder derangement syndrome.
Materials and methods: 40 years old male patient presented with right anterior shoulder pain at Spine Rehab Centre Max Health Hospital and he was assessed and treated with MDT. Patient was assessed and diagnosed with Shoulder derangement, his abduction and external rotation was limited with pain.
Results: Patient was given directional preference of internal rotation, and was treated for 4 continuous visits, regularly assessed and continued the same treatment. On last visit he was assessed and discharged asymptomatically.
Conclusion: MDT overall is cost effective self-treatment method for derangement, dysfunction and postural syndrome. Initially it was introduced as spinal technique but later described useful for extremities also.
