Evaluation of Reports Required by the Statutes for Distribution of Monetary Donations and Allowances

Abstract

Physicians have to write reports in accordance with the relevant laws, statutes and regulations when requested by the administrations for distribution of monetary donations and allowances. The Statutes for Distribution of Monetary Donations and Allowances show the conditions requiring monetary support, the people who need monetary donations and the types of making monetary donations in cases of disabilities and injuries. We retrospectively reviewed the reports written in accordance with the Statutes for Distribution of Monetary Donations and Allowances in the Department of Forensic Medicine of Gülhane Military Medical Academy between 1st January 2005 and 31st December 2006. There were 87 reports written in accordance with the Statutes for Distribution of Monetary Donations and Allowances. The mean age of the cases was 25.93 ±5.8 years (20-43 years). The most frequent condition requiring monetary support was gun shot wounds (42.6%).
