Exploring the frequency of complete atrioventricular heart block in patients with acute myocardial infarction in a tertiary healthcare setting

Objective: To determine the frequency of complete atrioventricular (AV) heart block in patients with acute myocardial infarction.
Methodology: This descriptive cross-sectional study consisted of 292 patients clinically diagnosed with Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI) based on clinical evaluation, electrocardiogram (ECG), and cardiac biomarkers (Troponin I/T). Patients with advanced heart failure or renal failure and patients with previous coronary artery bypass graft surgery were excluded. Demographic data were recorded and data analysis was done by using SPSS version 27.0. Chi-square test was performed to evaluate the association between infarction location and complete AV block. p
