Abstract
Objective: To find the prevalence of neck pain in goldsmiths in view of most of the work is done with their legs crossed or with a faulty posture that can cause pain in the neck.
Methodology: It was a cross sectional study in which convenient sampling was used. Data were collected from 200 goldsmiths from different markets in Lahore, Pakistan using a questionnaire. Patients with spinal fracture, trauma, surgery, neurological issues and spinal deformity were excluded.
Results: The mean age of goldsmiths was 42 years (range 21-63). Out of 200 goldsmiths, 124 (62%) had pain in their neck and 76 (38%) had no pain.
Conclusion: Significant percentage of goldsmiths had pain in neck. One may be concerned with the inappropriate sitting posture and work pattern of goldsmit
