ROLE OF COMMUNITY HEALTH NURSE IN SCHOOL HEALTH PROGRAMME

Abstract

School children are an important group of human population because they form, high proportion i.e. one -, fourth of the total population. The age group is between 5 to18 years. School health is an important aspect of the community health. School health services refer to all activities that contribute to improve and maintain the health of the children. The school child is exposed to various type of infections. The hazards are : daily journey to school, accidents at play and the physical and emotional strain of learning. Thus, school health services have become the concern of the health departments as well as of the educational departments.
