Knowledge regarding cardio pulmonary resuscitation among adolescent girls at Dakkilivaripalem, Nellore.

Abstract

(CARDIO PULMONARY RESUSCITATION) CPR is an emergency procedure performed, to manually preserve intact brain function until further measures are taken to restore spontaneous blood circulation and breathing in a person who is in cardiac arrest. Objective: To assess the level of knowledge regarding cardio pulmonary resuscitation among adolescent girls at Dakkilivaripalem, Nellore. Materials
and Methods: Descriptive cross sectional design and convenience sampling technique was used. Sample size of the study was 30. Data was collected using structured questionnaire. Data analysis was done with SPSS. Results: Shows that about with relation to the level of knowledge regarding cardio pulmonary resuscitation among adolescent girls, 3(10%) had B+ grade, 7(23.33%) had B grade, 3(10%) had C grade, 17 (56.67%) had D grade. Conclusions: The findings of the study conclude that majority of the adolescent girls had D grade knowledge on cardio pulmonary resuscitation. This result strongly suggest that there is an emerging need to educate adolescent girls regarding cardio pulmonary resuscitation and importance, different methods and procedure of doing the cardio pulmonary resuscitation. To save the life of the people.
