Tamaka Swasa (Bronchial Asthma) is the most common burning health problem debilitating the child from doing the routine activities. The prevalence of Asthma in Indian children is higher in urban areas compared to rural areas. Several researches have come up to have a simple, easy and quick approach to reduce the symptoms of breathing difficulty. One such time-tested approach is Dhooma nasya. Nebulization can be considered as modified method of Dhooma nasya. Unlike the oral route where palatability is tricky factor, nebulization is an easy alternative method with minimal side effects to render instantaneous relief in children with Asthma. Parnayavani Arka nebulization is one such approach to Tamaka Swasa. Studies reveal Parnayavani has high amount of Carvacrol and Thymol found in the essential oil of this plant which are excellent expectorants and have Bronchodilator effect. Because of these properties and the method of administration Parnayavani Arka nebulization has proved to be effective in Tamaka Swasa in children.
