Objective: To find whether the fibrinogen levels can be used as valuable biomarker for severity and progression of Diabetic foot ulcer (DFU).
Methodology: In this retrospective study, 150 patients with DFU were selected at Cantonment General Hospital, Rawalpindi, Pakistan from January 2016 to January 2017. The severity was assessed by Wegener criteria. Age, gender, duration of DM, fasting plasma glucose (FPG) levels, hemoglobin, WBC counts, fibrinogen levels and status of amputation were considered. Data were analyzed by SPSS version 24.
