Dengue is one of the most important mosquito-borne illnesses worldwide. Severe organ involvement, such as cardiac involvement, is classified as severe dengue. A variety of cardiac complications have been reported in dengue-related patients previously, namely atrioventricular conduction disorders, arrhythmia, myocardial impairment, and myocarditis. While majority of these were associated with myocarditis and dengue shock syndrome, isolated supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) in otherwise uncomplicated patient was not previously reported. Here, we report a case of SVT as the initial presentation of an adult dengue fever.
Key words: Dengue, supraventricular tachycardia, arrhythmia.
