Abstract

The review article entitled, “MUCOADHESIVE POLYMERS AND THEIR MODE OF ACTION: A RECENT UPDATE” represents the mucoadhesive or bioadhesive polymers, both conventional and substituted or conjugated emphasizing their mechanism of mucoadhesion. There are hundreds of studies reported recent times on mucoadhesive drug delivery system. Different researchers have used different polymers. Therefore there is need to compile and study the polymers used to facilitate selection of suitable polymer. In this review the authors have tried to search and compile important information on mucoadhesive drug delivery system focusing the polymers used within last 10 years.
