Abstract

Dupuytren’s disease (DD) is a benign proliferative disease of the hand palm. The fibroproliferative disease can cause palmar nodules and fibrotic bands that lead to flexion contractures in commonly ulnar digits. In this case report, we present the excursion of a contracture band after hand laceration which misdiagnosed as flexor tendon rupture by emergency room staff and junior plastic surgery resident.

Key words: dupuytren contracture, tendon rupture, pretendinous band, palmar fibromatosis
