Torsion of Enlarged Spleen in a Pregnant Lady: Case Report with Review of Literature

Abstract

We present a 20 years old female patient who was pregnant in her first trimester (gestational age was 12 weeks) and had severe abdominal pain. An ultrasound revealed enlarged spleen surrounded by minimal free fluid. Exploratory laparotomy showed enlarged torted spleen along its vascular pedicle for which splenectomy was done. Post operatively recovery smooth and was discharged after three days after.
