Editorial: Applicability of Artificial Intelligence in Medical Analysis and Ethical Issues

Kemal Turker Ulutas.

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) rapidly transforms medical analysis by enabling advanced diagnostic imaging, predictive analytics, and personalized treatment strategies. This editorial reviews the dual-edged nature of AI integration into healthcare. On one hand, AI's capability to process vast and complex datasets can significantly enhance diagnostic accuracy and streamline clinical workflows. On the other hand, its deployment raises critical ethical issues, including data privacy, algorithmic bias, and the opaque nature of many AI decision-making processes. Moreover, challenges in transparency and accountability complicate the clinical adoption of these technologies. This article underscores the urgent need for robust regulatory frameworks and interdisciplinary collaboration by examining recent advancements and associated ethical dilemmas. Ultimately, while AI holds promise for revolutionizing patient care, its sustainable and equitable implementation depends on balancing technological innovation with ethical oversight.

Key words: Medical Analysis; Ethical Issues; Machine Learning; Diagnostic Imaging; Predictive Analytics; Personalized Medicine
