Abstract
The present study concludes that the MCEO possess significant antibacterial activity. And also have the antioxidant activity. This was the first report on the antibacterial and antioxidant activity of essential oil from the flowers of M.champaka extracted by hydrodistillation method. This result justifies the traditional use of M.champaka in the health care system. Further studies recommended exploring the phytoconstituents responsible for its activity and using MCEO in the discovery of leads in the area of pharmaceutical research.
