Impact of family-centered empowerment model on self-efficacy and HbA1c levels in Type 2 diabetes mellitus

Objective: To analyze the effect of the Family-Centered Empowerment Model on self-efficacy in type 2 diabetes mellitus.
Methodology: The study design was one group pre-test post-test design. The sample size consisted of 37 respondents with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The family-centered empowerment model intervention was conducted once per week for four weeks followed by telephone monitoring. Glycemic control was evaluated with HbA1c, and self-efficacy was evaluated by Diabetes Management Self-Efficacy scale. The data were analyzed using Wilcoxon test.
