Ayurveda, the ancient Indian medical wisdom prescribed numerous ways and means to overcome the chronic and incurable diseases and associated
medical, psychological and social problems in a holistic way under the heading of Rasayana. The concept of rasayana is very applicable in preventing
premature deaths due to ailments like cardiovascular diseases and cancers. This paper focuses on understanding the cancer in reference to Ayurvedic biology
i.e., in terms of the theory of Tridosha, Sapta Dhatus, the Agni, SrotaƔmsi, and the generic sequence of events in the causation of a disease (Satkriyakala)
and its role in integrative care. An integrative approach to oncology is needed in light of growing body of knowledge gained through scientific
development as many herbs are being screened worldwide as anti-cancerous drugs. The science of Ayurveda is supposed to add a step on to the curative
aspects of cancers that have resemblance with Ayurvedic clinical entities like arbuda, granthi, gulma, valmika etc..
