Background: Vancomycin is an anti-microbial agent which is preferred for the treatment of bacteremia, endocarditis, pneumonia, cellulitis, catheter infection and osteomyelitis. Pancytopenia is one of the rare side effects of vancomycin treatment and there are few presentations in the literature on this issue.
Case Summary: Here, we presented three cases with vancomycin related pancytopenia. All three cases were treated with vancomycin for different infections and healed with appropriate therapeutic interventions.
Conclusion: Vancomycin dependent pancytopenia is a serious and life- threatening condition. Clinicians should keep this condition in mind in order to prevent related complications with appropriate medical support.
