This book review is based on the ‘Hathayoga Pradipika’, which is an important text propounded by Swami Swatmaram, a follower of Nath Cult of Hatha Yoga tradition. Dr. Gyanshankar Sahay has presented the Hindi version of this text, which is published by Chaukhambha Surbharti, Varanasi, India. This text describes various practices and principles of hatha yoga in detail which includes Asana, Pranayama, Mudra-Bandha and Nadanusandhan. The writer has provided the detail description of historical background and relevance of hatha yoga. Hatha Yoga which is known as a complex subject. The author has used his complete experience to make this scholarly knowledge of Hatha Yoga comprehensible as well as easy. However, there are enough linguistic errors in the present book which needs improvement from linguistic point of view. There is a need to have better depiction and illustration in the present book. Students should do self-study of this book to understand the Hatha Yoga. Besides, this book is very useful and collectible for teachers, researchers, and yoga seekers.
