Association of fecal calprotectin and M2 pyruvate kinase with fecal pathogenic microorganisms in gastrointestinal infection

Abstract

Objective: To determine the association of Fecal Calprotectin (f-CP) and M2 Pyruvate Kinase (M2-PK) with intestinal pathogens by means of the gastrointestinal syndromic panel.
Methodology: This retrospective analytic study was conducted in the laboratory department a private hospital in Jakarta from October 2021 to September 2022. The inclusion criteria comprised patients aged ≥18 years with gastrointestinal complaints who had undergone f-CP and M2-PK examinations and gastrointestinal syndromic testing.
