Byssinosis

Abstract


 


Byssinosis is an occupational disease which is known for 250 years, and is due to inhalation of cotton dust. Hemp plant and flax can also be the causes of this disease.

Textile has an important role in the economy of our country. A review of byssinosis, and the treatment protocols and preventive strategies of this disease are discussed.

Key words: Bissinosis, dispnea, cotton dust.
