A Case of Mitral Valve Rupture after Infective Endocarditis

Abstract


Mitral valve rupture is a serious complication of infective endocarditis. The prevalence ranges from 1 to 11%o. In this report we describe a 19-year od boy presenting with subacute endocarditis, complicated with mitral valve rupture. He was successfully treated with a mitral valve replacement.
