Abstract
Twenty nine patients with asthma and chronic reversible obstructive pulmonary disease were studied. The />atients ' ventolin inhaler tests' results were above 10 %. controlled release salbutamol tablets were given to the patients with 12-hour inten’als and no other bronchodilator agent had been added. Before and 4 and 8 weeks after the treatment the pulmonary function tests were applied. Afier 4 week improvements in PTC and P'EI'l, were highly significant (p 0.001), and after 8 week improvements in PTC and FEV1. were also significant (p 0.001).
