Abstract

Congenital or acquired cholesteatoma in the petro us part of the temporal bone leads to facial nerve paralysis insidiously. Sensorineural hearing loss may be observed frequently due to erosion of the cochlea or labyrinth. The facial nerve function and hearing status designates the surgical approach. In th is paper, a patient with anterior petrous apex cholesteatoma leading to facial nerve paresis and total hearing loss for three years was reported.
