Sensitivity of Antimicrobics to E.coli Strains Isolated From Urine Samples

Abstract


 

One hundred E.coli strains were isolated from urine samples of the patients with urinary tract infection. The
patients were obtained from different policlinics. The sensitivity E.coli was tested by application of ampiciline,
cotrimaxazol, sephalotin, nitrofurantoin, ofloxacin, tobramycin, netilmycin according to NCCLS. by using Kirby-
Bauer disk diffision method. The highest sensitivity were found to amikacin (92%), imipenem (90%) and
ciprofloxacin (88%). The highest resistance were found to ampicillin (97%) and cephalotin (96%).
