Neurenteric cysts are rare, with fewer than 35 cases presented in the literature. We report a case of posterior
mediastinal neurenteric cyst in a 3-year-old boy presenting with respiratory distress, fever, and cough. Treatment
consisted of excision of the cyst through a right posterolateral thoracotomy. Postoperative course was complicated
with chylothorax and treated medically. The embryologic, diagnostic, therapeutic relationships of the case were
discussed.
