Abstract

Low grade fibromyxoid sarcoma is a rare type of sarcoma which was first described by Evans in 1987. Despite its deceptively benign histologic features, it is associated by an aggresive clinical course characterized by recurrence and metastases. Differential diagnosis is important, since it might be  confused with other benign and malignant tumors which shows myxoid alterations.  Here in we presented a case of a low grade fibromyxoid sarcoma in a 50 year old man and discussed the histopathologic  and immunohistochemical features of this rare tumor in view of literature.

Key Words: Sarcoma, Low grade fibromyxoid sarcoma, Myxofibrosarcoma
